Clifford’s Tower

Clifford's Tower offers marvellous views of the city and surrounding area. The grassy banks below the Tower are a popular place to sit on sunny days.

The present Tower was built in the 13th Century by Henry III, but has origins back to William the Conqueror and his quest to subdue the north. Uncover a shameful and bloody past, as the Tower has been the site of many horrific incidents throughout history. When visiting Clifford's Tower ask the bus driver for a Heritage Voucher to ensure you obtain reduced admission. (Alight at The Stonebow).
