Kirkham Priory

The ruins of the Augustinian Kirkham priory feature an elaborate gatehouse and monk’s washroom. Set beside the river, it makes a beautiful spot for a picnic. On-site interpretation includes the story of Winston Churchill's secret visit, and Kirkham's role in testing landing vehicles for D-Day during World War II.
